Jenny Scanlin
Jenny Scanlin was appointed Chief Strategic Development Officer of the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) in February 2018. In this capacity, she oversees the Strategic Initiatives Bureau of HACLA, including its Real Estate Development, Asset Management, Community Engagement & External Affairs, Partnership Development, and WorkSource Center. She leads HACLA’s efforts to diversify its portfolio of affordable housing, preserve and maintain its assets as best in class, engage residents and the broader community as stakeholders and leaders in defining HACLA’s priorities and process; and invest in partnerships and innovations that promote equity and outcome-driven impacts.
Prior to her current position at HACLA, Jenny served as the Agency’s Director of Development from 2015 to 2018. Jenny’s career embodies over thirty-years of executive leadership in public service working for the City of Los Angeles’s Economic and Workforce Development Department (EWDD) and former Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA/LA), as well as the Alameda County Community Development Agency, the Offices of Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson and Congressman Ronald Dellums, various nonprofits and the East Bay Conversion and Reinvestment Commission.
She has a Dual BA Degree in Political Science and Social Work from the University of California, Berkeley.
