The 2nd Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by the Boys and Girls Club of Mar Vista Gardens
The Boys & Girls Club of Mar Vista Gardens hosted their 2nd annual pre-Thanksgiving dinner for the Mar Vista Gardens community. This event was made possible thanks to volunteers, sponsors and a generous donation from Ralphs, who donated 95% of the food for this occasion. Over 50 volunteers served more than 400 meals to families residing at the Mar Vista Gardens public housing community in West Los Angeles.

Jumpstart Volunteers Help Build Literacy Skills at Estrada Courts Public Housing
Six Jumpstart Foster Grandparent volunteers are the newest addition to the Housing Authority’s tool in helping youth attain 3rd grade reading proficiency at Estrada Learning Center. According to State test results, many of our youth are not meeting the third grade reading standard. Grand Opening of the Watts/Los Angeles WorkSource Center at Imperial Courts
November 19 - The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) celebrated the grand opening of the Watts/Los Angeles WorkSource Center (WSC) with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony. The Housing Authority’s WorkSource Portal is expanding its services as a result of a $5 million five year grant from the Department of Labor.
