Mar Vista Garden’s youth, Salvador Molina, Receives Youth of the Year Award

Mar Vista Garden’s youth, Salvador Molina, Receives Youth of the Year Award

Salvador Molina, a 17-year-old resident of Mar Vista Gardens and a member of the Jack and Cindy Jones Club house of the Boys and Girls Club of Mar Vista Gardens, was presented with the 2018 Youth of the Year award for The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Monica.

Winning the Youth of the Year award for The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Monica was like a dream come true for Molina. When Molina enters a room, his positive demeanor easily lights up the room. He’s been described by his peers as a positive role model who always supports those around him.

As the 2018 Youth of the Year, Molina wants to expose himself to the large world outside of the Mar Vista Gardens housing community. He hopes to come back as an example to all the youth living there and teach them the things he’s learned, so they too can be successful.

Molina dreams of a career in engineering and coding. He hopes to attend Cal Polytechnic Luis Obispo after he graduates from his high school in 2019.

Molina will speak at the Boys & Girls Club’s 4th Annual Stakeholder Breakfast at the Rivera Club on April 18th, 2018.
