Mar Vista Gardens Step Team Perform at the National Conference in Chicago

Six Mar Vista Gardens Boys & Girls Club members ages 9 through 13 traveled to Chicago to perform at the National Conference on May 15.  The Step Team submitted a video of their routine and was selected to showcase their talent as part of the conferences’ grand finale.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) hosts an annual National Conference that gathers over 2,500 community leaders in youth development and Club professionals involved with Boys & Girls Clubs around the world. This year’s National Conference was held in Chicago, Illinois from May 13through May 15.

Every year BGCA conducts a talent search where Club members around the world can submit videos of their performances. This year, the Boys & Girls Club of Mar Vista Gardens won for the submission of their Step Team.

The Step Team of Mar Vista Gardens had a unique opportunity to meet other members of Boys & Girls Clubs, participate in rehearsals and study hours as well as explore Chicago and its landmarks. Not only was the trip educational it was also a lot of fun. Congratulations to the Mar Vista Gardens Step Team on their continued success!
